About The Event
This is an open competition open to all British Fencing members with a compete licence (13+ on 01/04/2023). The event is NON-RANKING. Check-in times are provisional and are subject to change.
Entry caps will be put in place.

Format
2 rounds of poules, followed by direct eliminations. Both rounds of poules contribute to ranking for the direct eliminations.
There will be a mixed secondary subject to organiser discretion.
Self-refereeing may be required.
Epee / Sabre is on Saturday and Foil on Sunday.
GB Cup Qualifier
This competition is also the Scottish qualifying event for the GB Cup. The finals of the GB cup are in Sheffield on the 3 and 4 June 2023. The top two in each weapon who are eligible to compete in the GB cup can enter the finals in Sheffield. The GB cup is aimed at beginners and less experienced fencers.
To be eligible to fence at the GB Cup you need to be:
- Aged 16 or over on 1 January 2023
- Ranked outside the top 50 of National Senior rankings
- Never won a Senior Open event
- A UK resident
- Have a Scottish Fencing membership with your region on sport80 as Scotland East, Scotland Central, Scotland North or Scotland West.
Note: you don’t have to meet the above criteria to enter the Glasgow Open, these just relate to anyone interested in fencing at the GB cup finals.
BF Event number / licences
This is British Fencing event licence #38732. A valid British Fencing 'Compete' licence must be held for the duration of the event.
